Biography

I was born in Como, Italy, on March 3rd, 1966. I have always lived here, though I became an anglo-phile when I was very young and often dreamt about moving to the UK. I have been living on my own since 1995 and I moved to a new bigger house in 2004. (more news on my family here)

I studied languages (English and French) both at secondary school and university. I got my degree in 1990 and was lucky enough to pass state exams to become a teacher almost immediately. I first taught French at middle school in 1992 and then started teaching English at high school in 1993. I worked at a vocational school for commerce, tourism and social services for 12 years and then moved to a new technical school in 2006.

Before I started teaching, money came in in different ways... I had private students, taught afternoon or evening courses, even taught music at a children's school. I also worked for the 1991 census and then had a promising career as a baby-sitter until.... the child I looked after was out with me under a pouring June rain and I was sacked...

I have always loved music, especially British folk-rock. All through the years I have widened my horizons and now listen to almost anything, though my favourite genres are still rock and folk. I sort of play the mandolin and the guitar although my musical career is completely stuck at the moment..

I also love reading, cross-stitching, beading, seeing friends, making cakes, watching TV and using my computer. I would like to be able to travel more but unfortunately time and money can be a problem... I have spent many holidays in Britain or France, going to concerts or visiting friends. I have also visited central Italy on two occasions with a person who was very important for me... In 2006 I saw Madrid with V for the first time in my life. I was back in France both in 2007 and 2008, still with V (who seems to be here to stay). I have many ideas for the future, we'll see which ones will come true.
