Melancholy

“I can suck melancholy out of a song, as a weasel sucks eggs.” (W. Shakespeare – As You Like It

I wonder why there are moments when I feel the need to tune in with the pains of the world, even when I am doing all I can to find the positive aspects of my life and of myself. Let’s have a good liberating cry accompanied by a song that has always had this effect on me, regardless of whether I’m heartbroken or not.

Paul Young – Broken Man

If you feel the hurtIs but a kiss awayClose your eyesAnd take itAnd if you feel that painCan tear you in twoGo ahead and bear it
You know the wordsHe’s gonna sayStill you sit and listenAnd those tender wordsCan melt this stong man’s heartYours will learn a lesson
And when you hear him say“I don’t want your love”Try not to turn awayOoh
A broken manAlmost died of a broken heartA broken manThat’s what I am
And when you thinkYou’ve had enoughJust say stopI understandYou’ll stop your tearsFrom building up insideBaby, stop your trembling hands
And when you hear him say“I don’t want your love”Try not to turn awayOoh
A broken manAlmost died of a broken heartA broken manThat’s what I amI’m a broken manOoh
